Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 cells. The antibody does not block recognition of CD1.1 by T cells. The antibody reacts with CD1.1, and cross-reacts with CD1.2. The epitope recognized by 19F8 is distinct from that recognized by the cluster represented by 15F7 (ATCC HB-322) and 20H2 (ATCC HB-323). The antibody performs well in flow cytometry applications, but weakly in immunoprecipitation applications. |

| Subculturing | Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Maintain cultures at cell concentrations between 4 X 10(5) and 8 X 10(5) viable cells/ml. |
